Niagara Mohawk People

Back of Niagara Mohawk's system of generating plants, transmission lines, and power circuits; back of the light switch that summons instantaneous light and power; back of the invisible street mains and service pipes of the gas system —stand more than nine thousand men and women with surprising versatility of talents, united for the single purpose of supplying dependable service.

People of Niagara MohawkHere are snow testers to forecast the spring and summer flow of mountain streams; substation operators to help regulate the traffic of kilowatts; linemen, servicemen, repairmen, engineers, accountants, and specialists with almost every kind of technical training. More than half of them have been with the System for more than fifteen years. Many are veterans of the electric and gas industry who helped build the plants and remained to operate them. All of them play an indispensable part in the smooth performance of the System.

To these people is given the responsibility of keeping the highways of power open and the home fires bright and burning for the people and the land Niagara Mohawk serves.
