HUDSON RIVER DAY LINE

INCREASED    SERVICE    AND    IMPORTANT CHANGES OF SCHEDULES.

From May 23d to Sept. 29th, the Steamer "Mary Powell" will leave New York daily, except Sunday, from Desbrosses St., 1:4.5 p. m., West 42d St. at 2 p. m.? West 129th St., 2 :20 p.m.

On and after June 27th daily, except Sunday, connection will be made by the Steamer "Mary Powell" at West Point with the down Day Line Steamer "Albany" for New York, thus giving an afternoon excursion from New York to West Point, one of the most beautiful trips in the world.

Beginning June 27th, the famous Day Line Steamer "Albany" will leave New York daily, except Sunday, one hour after the regular Day Boat schedule, viz., Desbrosses St., 9:40 a. m., West 42d St., 10 a. m., West 129th, 10:20 a. m., making the same intermediate stops as the first boat, with the addition of Cornwall (direct connection with the O. & W. Railroad), reaching Poughkeepsie at 2:35 p. m., where a stop of one hour and a half will be made, enabling passengers to take trolley ride to Vassar College, then returning to New York, making same stops. Passengers desirous of having more time at Vassar College should go by the first morning boat, which will allow two hours and fifty-five minutes.

The second boat is intended especially to accommodate people who like an hour later start.

This gives a triple service between New York and Poughkeepsie, and three daily excursions to West Point, a double service between New York and Kingston and single service between New York and Albany, all daily, except Sunday.

By going up on the morning boat, passengers will have ample time to make the glorious ascent of Mount Beacon (inclined road), or take the trolley ride from Newburgh through the beautiful hills of Orange County to the charming new resort and park at Orange Lake, and return by Steamer "Albany."

Passengers for West Point or Newburgh may go by either the first or second boat, and return either by the regular through liner, reaching New York at 5:30 p. m., or by the last boat, reaching New York at 8:40 p. m. (Cornwall tickets good only on Steamer "Albany" or "Mary Powell.")

Day Excursionists for Cornwall can go and return on Steamer "Albany" (second boat out of New York). The "Mary Powell" will land at Cornwall on down trip at 8 :15 a. m., and on the up trip at 5 :25 p. m.

This schedule offers a variety of most attractive day outings. Fine orchestras and excellent cuisine on all steamers; tickets interchangeable, and excursion tickets good for the season.

The popularity of the Hudson day outings has grown to such an extent that the Day Line has increased its carrying capacity by over 100 per cent, so that the greatest comfort can be secured and one may enjoy in peace the charming River from the decks of this finest fleet of day steamers in the world.

  QUICK TIME.

"Do you have any trouble in making your Pegasus go?"

"Never a bit. I always use the spur of the moment."

THE REIGN OF LOVE.

To nature, God is law; to man, God is and must be love. For matter can be ruled, sustained, moulded, glorified by law only; but man is governed, uplifted, brought to his best estate only by the measureless forces of an infinite love. To him, law is an incident; it is not, nor can it be, by him regarded as a primary or an ultimate condition of spiritual well being. A good man obeys the law of nature and of his own well being; but that is not his goodness. Such obedience may be his life; but it is not his virtue nor his exaltation. To put on the bloom of grace, to be morally excellent, a human spirit must come under the dominion of love divine. The realm of ideal manhood is where love rules; the beginning and the end of our perfected humanity is the reign of love.
