Baggage Delivery in New York

BAGGAGE DELIVERY IN NEW YORK.

The New York Transfer Company, operating on the steamers of this line, provides means for the prompt and accurate handling of baggage for delivery to hotels, residences, etc., in New York, Brooklyn, Jersey City and Hoboken. Messengers of the Company board the steamers daily to take up checks and receive delivery orders. The New York Transfer Company's schedule of delivery prices ranges from 40 to 75 cents in Manhattan and The Bronx, according to distance; from 50 to 75 cents in Brooklyn, and 75 cents in Jersey City and Hoboken.

SPECIAL DELIVERY SERVICE.

New York Transfer Company Special Delivery Checks, as in past seasons, will be on sale at stations of the Ulster & Delaware Railroad, the Catskill Mountain Railway, the Otis Railway, the Catskill & Tannersville Railway, and the Delaware & Hudson Company. These checks provide for the delivery of baggage to any address in Manhattan and The Bronx (south of 185th street) and in Brooklyn at prices ranging from 50 to 75 cents, and relieve passengers of all further trouble from their baggage. Passengers desirous of securing this service must apply to the railroad station agent for the special checks and must prepay the charges. They should be at the station at least thirty minutes ahead of train time with their baggage to enable the agent to prepare the checks, or else they should notify the agent in advance in writing, giving him the name and address and the number of checks wanted. Whenever practicable, it is suggested, for the comfort of passengers, that baggage be checked a day in advance, which would, under this system, insure its arrival at the home address before the owner. 'This is especially desirable in the rush season of August and the early part of September, when, with the tremendous flood of inbound travel, all express companies are taxed far beyond their capacity and baggage delivery is inevitably delayed from three to twelve hours.

TRANSFERS TO DESBROSSES STREET FERRY.

The transfer of baggage from Desbrosses

Street Pier to the Pennsylvania ferry at Desbrosses Street will be made for 15 cents, by Day Line porters. Application for this service should be made to the Steamer Baggagemaster.

NORTH BOUND BAGGAGE.

For passengers north bound out of New York, baggage will be called for at hotel or residence, and checked through to destination called for by ticket, upon order left at any office of the New York Transfer Co. or at the Day Line offices at Desbrosses St., 42d St. and 129th St. piers.
