Soldiers and Sailors Monument and 79th Street Marina

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument, framed against the leaves of Riverside park trees and huge apartment houses, is another identification point to be seen as the Circle Line Boat completes its round trip. It is at 89th Street and was erected to honor those who lost their lives in the War Between the States.

The 79th Street Marina is home to many beautiful yachts and power boats. It was off here that the great white sail training ships from all over the world anchored during Operation Sail 1964.
